4over Helps the Fight Against Cancer—15th Annual Entertainment Industry Foundation Revlon Run/Walk

May 10, 2008 — Inspired by over 50,000 participants from all over the Southern California and united by the common dream of finding a cure for women's cancers, 4over’s team helped raise millions of dollars this year.

The 3-mile run/walk event was held on an early Saturday morning, one day before Mother’s Day and involved celebrity appearances, sponsor events, a cool concert and awards ceremony with medallions for all participants. The route began at the Figueroa and the 39th streets in Los Angeles and ended in the Memorial Coliseum where the medallions were distributed along with quick snacks and entertainment. In addition to the participants, city Police and Fire departments along with a few television and radio news stations were also present.

The proceeds donated by the participants, numerous organizations, and the families go towards funding ongoing medical breakthroughs in cancer research studies and get distributed to a variety of charitable organizations to provide support programs for patients and their families. The event hosts thousands of cancer survivors and their families and friends, along with other individuals who want to contribute to the cause.

About the Entertainment Industry Foundation Revlon Run/Walk – The EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women was launched in 1993 through the combined efforts of Lilly Tartikoff, Ronald O. Perelman and EIF. Since inception, nearly $50 million in grants have been made from the combined events (Los Angeles and New York).

Proceeds from past EIF Revlon Run/Walks have funded cutting-edge research, contributing to the development of the breakthrough gene treatment Herceptin as well as other targeted therapies, bringing new and innovative treatment approaches to women's cancers worldwide.
